Where Can I Study?

Rotary Youth Exchange students have told us over and over again that their country placement alters their lives forever. We offer exchanges with more than thirty countries on four continents, so roll up your sleeves and make an informed choice!

At Rotary Youth Exchange we are looking for youth ambassadors who live by the motto “it’s not WHERE you go, but THAT you go”. With this in mind, we offer you the opportunity to choose five preferred host countries, but remind you that these selections are not guaranteed. We also believe an integral part of youth exchange is learning a new language, so we do not exchange with countries who have English as their native language. We work with Rotary partners across the globe to secure vetted host families, schools and Rotary clubs in your host country.

After you complete Part 1 of your application, you will be asked to select up to five preferred host countries from the available list of countries we exchange with. This list of countries will be personalized to you based on many factors, including your age, dietary needs, and language skills. Because of these factors, not all the countries we exchange with will available on your host country list.

After your host country has been selected, you will be contacted by a Rotary Youth Exchange country coordinator assigned to your country. These local coordinators work individually with you in two specific areas:

  1. Ensure that you have all the necessary documents needed for your year abroad
  2. Provide you with information and training on your host country prior to your departure.
